Visual Gestural Communication (VGC) workshops coming in NovemberPosted Oct. 28, 2013
Kent State University at Trumbull and Sign Language Resources & Education Center by LM Global Enterprises, LLC, present the Visual Gestural Communication Workshops.
The workshops will be held in the Student Union, located on the first floor of the Classroom/Administration Building, and are free and open to the public. Suggested attendees include community interpreters, educational interpreters, members of the Deaf Community, members of the Hearing Community, college students and ASL instructors.
Benefits of attending include, developing "muscles" to use the whole body as a means for language, developing visual communication skills, developing skills in universal communication through VGC, developing the use of hands for self-expression, develop a better understanding of Sign Language and developing a better understanding of classifiers.
The first workshop will be held on Nov. 9 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with the second occurring on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on both dates.
