Honors Fashion Student Attends Teen Vogue's Fashion U.Posted Nov. 15, 2013
Honors student Minh Phuong, a current sophomore fashion design student, recently attended this year's Fashion U. seminar held Oct. 18-20 in New York City.
Fashion U. is a highly selective initiative by Teen Vogue that hosts a select number of students interested in fashion for a three-day seminar to learn more about breaking into the industry at a young age.
"I believe that this is a once in a lifetime learning opportunity as an aspiring designer and stylist," said Phuong. "This is an invaluable opportunity to promote the Kent State University School of Fashion."
The seminar provides students the opportunity to hear from a number of accomplished professionals in the fashion industry. This year's line-up included individuals such as Alexa Chung, Christian Cristiano, Thakoon, and Coco Rocha.
"I am certain to bring back reflections and insights that we learn from the seminars with the elites of the industry," Phuong said. "More importantly, as an Honors student, I plan to bring to the table alternative points of view and challenging intellectual questions about the future of fashion."
