Student Paper Presentations
Prizes will be awarded in Four Categories:

Humanities/ Eco-feminist Based Academic (Literary) Essay - Using literary texts and/or social theory, compose an essay that examines the human or other costs of environmental pollution or that discusses solutions to problems. This essay requires sources, but the writer can take a position and can draw conclusions using opinions. Sources must be cited.

Nonfiction Narrative (Personal) Essay - Using and citing an eco-feminist text or research as a starting point, this essay should explore personal connections to the environment. The essay will be based in personal experience, and it will form a cohesive text that examines one aspect of the environment or environmental justice. Any sources used must be cited.

Science Based Essay -This essay category requires a strongly evidential essay, one that synthesizes a body of research and sources. No opinion, but the essay can have a point of view. Use reliable journals or .edu websites. Sources must be cited.

Poster Presentation - A concise presentation of an Environmental issue on triptych poster board. The poster should be self-explanatory, and accompanied with a brief paper that also provides citations for the images.
PAPER SESSION SUBMISSIONS DUE BY by APRIL 21 e-mail to pswartz@kent.edu
POSTERS DUE DAY of CONFERENCE. ON SITE
Papers should include cover sheet with title, and identifying information including ID number.
Title and ID number only should be included in the header of the paper for blind judging.
Conference Proceedings will be printed.
