"Timber!" Lecture Hall renovations continue

Posted Jul. 26, 2013

Construction continues at Kent State University at Trumbull as renovations to the school's primary lecture hall, located in the Classroom/Administration Building, is well under way, including the recent removal of a number of towering pine trees.

The project is expected to last approximately twelve months, with a projected cost of $3.5 million, and will expand the lecture hall to accommodate 300 seats. The renovations will include new theatre-style seating, new audio/visual & lecture equipment (including projection, sound and Wi-Fi), and a new stage with wheelchair access as well as new HVAC climate control equipment.

Due to the renovations, the campus bookstore, which is adjacent to the lecture hall, has temporarily relocated to Room 132 in the Technology Building and will remain there until construction is complete.

In addition, the main entrance to the building, located near the clock tower, will be closed beginning Monday, July 29, 2013 and remain so for approximately 11 months.

Students, faculty, staff and visitors can access the building via the LINK and Library/Theatre Building entrances. Directional signage will be posted to assist those not familiar with our campus. Thank you for your patience during this process.
