Timothy A. Thomas

Mr. Timothy A. Thomas, American Institute of Architects (AIA) Senior Associate at Balog, Steines, Hendricks, and Manchester (BSHM), an architectural firm with offices in Youngstown and Columbus, Ohio that specializes in academic architecture, both secondary and collegiate; cultural and institutional; historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse. Thomas has over 25 years experience in all aspects of architectural design, production of construction documents, and construction administration. Originally trained as a carpenter, Mr. Thomas has a sensitivity and personal practical experience that gives him great insight into the construction process and jobsite procedures. A significant number of the projects he has completed involved complex renovations of existing buildings, many of which remained occupied during the construction phase.

Tim received his degree in architecture at Kent State University and is a Registered Architect in Ohio. Mr. Thomas is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, certified in green and sustainable design and construction. He conducts research and evaluates projects, making recommendations on sustainable design issues. He is currently serving as a consultant for another local firm as a LEED consultant, and is one of the LEED Charrette Facilitators for BSHM projects under the aegis of the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
