 Kent State at East Liverpool Senior Megan Rodgers thrives under pressure. Rodgers’ ability to be successful both academically and civically stems from her commitment to get involved, stay connected and revitalize her community. As president of Kent State East Liverpool’s Environmental Club she has gained leadership skills and learned the importance of staying focused and organized.

Faculty Spotlight

 Nationally known neuroscientist and Kent State University at Salem faculty member, Dr. Ernie Freeman, researches the causes of Multiple Sclerosis when not teaching human anatomy and physiology. MS is an autoimmune disease that attacks ones’ brain and spinal cord (central nervous system) and effects approximately 1 in 1000 individuals. Freeman is also the Co-director of the Kent State University, Oak Clinic Consortium for Multiple Sclerosis and Neurodegenerative Disease Research.

Alumni Spotlight

Since starting at Salem Community Hospital part-time as a help desk technician, alum Darren Ray gained a full-time appointment and was then promoted to application specialist. Ray decided to study at Kent State University at Salem because he could earn a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Technology, stay close to home, save money and gain work experience at the same time.
